This is happening where I use to live, A place in New Zealand, named Christchurch.
The city was notorious for boy racer's and there dumped out car's, and then they made a law where
'3 strikes, your car gets crushed!'
Where this is taking place, was only a 3 min drive from where I use to live.

First it was boy racers cruising the city, but now the antics of drift trike riders in Christchurch's hill suburbs are worrying police.

Senior Sergeant Glenn Nalder said today police had received complaints about the three-wheeled vehicles from residents in Huntsbury and neighbouring areas over the past few months.

"We're very concerned about the dangers to the riders and to other road users," he said.

"Drift trike riders take their lives in their hands and there's a risk that sooner or later one of these riders will suffer serious injury or death."

The trikes are large tricycles adults ride down steep hills that are able to "drift" around corners.

Mr Nalder said there had been reports of the trikes travelling downhill at speed, often on the wrong side of the road, and often at night.

Residents can also be annoyed by the noise the vehicles make.

Drift trikes were classed as a vehicle under the Land Transport Act. If they were used on the road they must keep left and obey relevant road rules.

"Riders need to remember that they have responsibilities as road users and that when they put their own safety and that of other road users at risk police will take action," Mr Nalder said.

"Offences committed on a drift trike may also put the rider's car license at risk of disqualification."

Mr Nalder said complaints were received about drift trikes in the hill suburbs most weekends.

"Police are keeping a close watch on this activity and will be visiting areas where drift trikes are in action.

"We encourage people to report drift trike activity. We will respond to these complaints and take enforcement action against drift trike riders if need be," Mr Nalder said.

Last year the city's boy racer problem became such a problem that the Christchurch City Council adopted an anti-cruising bylaw.
Cruising was defined as "driving repeatedly in the same direction over the same section of road in a motor vehicle that (a) draws attention to the power or sound of the motor vehicle being driven; or (B) creates a convoy ... and © impedes traffic flow".
